Transmit and receive. With TX and RX signals, systems can send commands and follow the responses.
THE ESSENCE OF COM3
Before it was a brand, COM3 was already a way for systems to communicate.
A reference to serial communication. An identity that reflects what we do: connect technology to the real world.
Discover the meaning
01 / THE MEANING
Getting information
from one side to the other.
On Windows computers, names such as COM1, COM2 and COM3 identify serial communication ports. A program can use these ports to exchange data with a device.
The name COM3 refers to this world: the link between software and hardware, between an instruction and a response, between systems that need to work together.
The number identifies the port in the system. It does not necessarily mean the computer's third physical connection.
02 / THE SERIAL CONNECTION
In serial communication, bits travel through the connection in sequence. This simple foundation allows devices to exchange commands, readings and information.
The device sends information and the computer receives it through this signal.
DE-9, commonly called DB9. Front diagram of a male RS-232 connector in a DTE configuration. Pin assignments vary by interface and device.
Transmit and receive. With TX and RX signals, systems can send commands and follow the responses.
RS-232 is a serial interface standard. It defines how the electrical signals behave; other serial standards also exist.
USB-to-serial adapters and compatible devices can appear as COM ports. The COM port designation is also used in these cases.
03 / SEE THE IDEA IN MOTION
Type a message and watch its characters become bytes. A way to see what happens behind a connection.

04 / THE NAME GROWS WITH US
The reference comes from serial communication. The purpose goes further: integrating equipment, networks and software so that technology works together.
From the field signal to the information that guides the process.
Connections that bring people, teams and operations together.
Systems that exchange data and work together.
Technology for operations that require continuity.
